Introduction

APS offers a range of competitive priced port ancillary services in South China, including empty container storage, container maintenance, trucking, containerised and break-bulk cargo handling. APS also provides marine feeder-shuttle services between ports in Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta. In particular, APS currently runs feeder services between the Portfolio Container Terminals in Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

APS provides total logistics solutions for specialised cargoes in South China. It is currently the contracted supplier of the Water Supplies Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, providing liquid chlorine (dangerous goods) for water sterilisation.

In 2004, APS set up an inland bonded depot in Beijing to provide integrated customs clearance between Beijing and Tianjin. In 2007, Shenzhen Leading Edge Port Services Co. Ltd. was established as a joint venture to provide shipping agency services. The joint venture partner is Shenzhen United International Shipping Agency Company Limited, which is sponsored by the Ministry of Communications and China Ocean Shipping Agency Co., Ltd.

In 2007, APS, Hutchison Logistics and SHICD were grouped together to form a comprehensive logistics service provider called Port Services & Logistics (PS&L). PS&L aims to become a leading player in the logistics industry by harnessing the power of Hutchison Ports’ network.
